Four teens allegedly stole a luxury SUV and took it on a joyride before it crashed head-on into another vehicle in New Jersey, killing a beloved grandmother and her longtime partner, authorities said.<\/p>\n

Alice Stilwell Holt, 67, and Robert “Bob” Barr Jr., 54, both of Egg Harbor Township, were killed about 7:30 a.m. on Aug. 22 near Route 50 and Third Street in Mays Landing, according to the Atlantic County Prosecutor\u2019s Office.<\/p>\n

Prosecutors allege that Nayshaun Brown, 18, of Atlantic City, and three juveniles swiped a 2024 Mercedes-Benz G Wagon around 3:40 a.m. Saturday and took it for a joyride.<\/p>\n

A group of New Jersey teenagers allegedly stole a luxury SUV and led police on an hourslong pursuit before crashing head-on into another vehicle, authorities said.<\/span> (FOX 29)<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The joyride ended in tragedy when the luxury vehicle collided head-on with a Hyundai sedan carrying Holt and Barr as the driver attempted to evade authorities, they said. Surveillance video captured the crash, showing the black G-Wagon strike the sedan and sending the smaller vehicle into a nearby gas station.<\/p>\n

The teens walked away from the wreck with few injuries and tried to run, but authorities apprehended them shortly afterward, officials said.<\/p>\n

Brown, of Atlantic City, and three juveniles were charged with conspiracy counts involving aggravated assault, joyriding, eluding and receiving a stolen motor vehicle.<\/p>\n

Brown also faces a charge of employing a juvenile in the commission of a crime.<\/p>\n

Brown is being held at the Atlantic County Justice Facility. Two of the juveniles remain in custody, while another was released by a Superior Court judge Sunday morning.<\/p>\n

Officers had been following the stolen G-Wagon since approximately 3:40 a.m. in nearby Longport, where it sped past a local officer who attempted to stop the teenagers.<\/p>\n

Hamilton Township police then spotted the vehicle and pursued it around 7:45 a.m., but officers had lost sight of it a few minutes before the crash, prosecutors said.<\/p>\n

Holt’s obituary said that she and Barr were longtime partners after her husband had passed away.<\/p>\n
