Mykhailo Mudryk is serving a doping ban \u2013 we all knew that, but until this week we didn\u2019t know how long the ban was.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n If you enjoy Chelsea News coverage and want to see more of it, add us as a preferred source on Google to make us a favourite and see more of our content.<\/em><\/p>\n We finally found out this week that Mykhailo Mudryk\u2019s ban from the FA for doping for was handed out in January, and was four years.<\/p>\n It\u2019s only become public because he\u2019s put in an appeal at the Court of Arbitration for Sport. The FA\u2019s anti-doping programme is \u201cstrictly confidential,\u201d according to an explainer from the BBC.<\/p>\n That\u2019s all well and good. It seems fair that it should come down to the banned player to decide when and if to release information about their punishment.<\/p>\n What\u2019s more strange is that Mudryk\u2019s party didn\u2019t put out any information about the ban. The secrecy around it all did nothing to help him, only ramping up the conspiracy theories and speculation about what he\u2019d been banned for and for how long.<\/p>\n Of course it\u2019s reasonable to allow the player to release that information on his own terms \u2013 it\u2019s just strange that Mudryk didn\u2019t, especially if he knew that it would come out now that his appeal is in.<\/p>\n In any case, at least we have some idea now of when he could be back.
