Despite spending more than a billion pounds on players since the BlueCo takeover, Chelsea are yet again set for another high-spending summer transfer window after another poor campaign. The club management are believed to be looking to bring in players who could make an immediate impact. Yet, their pre-tax loss of around \u00a3260 million for the 2024-25 financial year is definitely an alarming situation going forward.<\/p>\n
The current situation has left the fans frustrated with BlueCo\u2019s decision-making. They feel the Blues have failed to live up to expectations and understandably so. They sit eighth in the Premier League table, 10 points behind fifth-placed Aston Villa and Champions League qualification looks to be a long shot now.<\/p>\n
So, there is a clear need to improve the squad. Keeping the financial reality in mind, the only way to do that might be by letting some players go first. Hopefully for big transfer fees as well.<\/p>\n
The Blues have seemingly decided on showing some of their players the exit door during the summer window. The likes of Tosin Adarabioyo, Axel Disasi, Benoit Badiashile, Alejandro Garnacho, Liam Delap and a few others are in contention for Stamford Bridge exits.<\/p>\n
Apparently, another player who might be on that list is Nicolas Jackson. He was signed for a transfer fee of \u00a332 million back in the summer of 2023 from Villarreal.<\/p>\n
The Senegalese international scored 30 times during his two seasons at Chelsea. Yet, a gradual decline in form and discipline saw the club management look at other options. In the summer, they loaned him out to Bayern Munich.<\/p>\n
Bayern Munich had an option to sign Jackson permanently. They won\u2019t be taking that up. But that does not necessarily mean that he will remain at Chelsea.<\/p>\n
According to Football Insider, Newcastle United are contemplating whether they are willing to meet Chelsea\u2019s asking price to part with Jackson on a permanent basis. The Blues are still holding out for a fee close to \u00a356 million.<\/p>\n
That was the option to buy in Bayern Munich\u2019s loan agreement. While playing second fiddle to Harry Kane, Jackson has already racked up 10 goals in 30 appearances for the Bavarian club. That clearly showcases the quality he has.
