A report has claimed that he had a \u2018verbal agreement\u2019 to be their next boss,<strong> but he has received the \u2018devastating news\u2019 that they are considering keeping the Dutchman.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>READ: Ranking the 10 most pointless loans this season after Liverpool and Arsenal\u2019s double mishaps<br \/><\/strong><\/p>\n<h2>Alonso open to Chelsea move on one condition\u2026<\/h2>\n<p>This could open the door to a move to Chelsea, who are looking for a new head coach to replace Rosenior.<\/p>\n<p>Alonso is among a host of options for Chelsea, and Blues journalist Simon Phillips insists the Spaniard is \u2018interested\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>However, a \u2018sticking point\u2019 is that Alonso would want more control regarding transfers to take the job, which you presume he is unlikely to receive.<\/p>\n<p>Former boss Antonio Conte has been mentioned as a left-field target for Chelsea, but Football Insider\u2019s Mick Brown, who is a former Premier League chief scout, has explained why there are \u201cmajor worries\u201d with the current Napoli boss.<\/p>\n<p><smartframe-embed customer-id=\"b0c95bc04383cef69c6b47df872135cf\" image-id=\"WmOBxntjFieo\" style=\"width: 100%; display: inline-flex; max-width: 100%;\"\/><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere are some major worries about hiring Conte,\u201d Brown told Football Insider.<\/p>\n<p><strong>READ MORE: Carrick, Arteta and Mourinho among six disasters to avoid this summer<br \/><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cHis time at Tottenham caused a few waves, and it\u2019s because of that Chelsea are cautious. He exploded towards the end, called out the board, the club\u2019s mentality and the chairman.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThen he was sacked, of course, it was essentially his passport to get out of there.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNow, the Chelsea board have had their own issues with managers speaking out against them, that\u2019s why Maresca was let go, so they don\u2019t want a repeat of that.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe other thing with Conte is, he wants to win but he wants to win short-term. It\u2019s what he does, he comes in and makes that immediate impact.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cChelsea, by all accounts, are looking long-term. They\u2019ve got this young group of players and they want to build something for the future, so does Conte fit into that?<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI would argue he doesn\u2019t at the moment, because yes it\u2019s good to win things, but they want to build this project and Conte isn\u2019t that type of manager.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo he\u2019ll be somebody they\u2019ve looked at, but I would be surprised if he\u2019s the one they went with.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>READ NEXT: Who will be Chelsea manager next season?
