Chelsea have done well to already secure Reece James to a new contract this season, and are now looking to do the same with Trevoh Chalobah.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Blues have been keen to address a number of contract situations throughout this campaign, with Reece James and Moises Caicedo both signing new deals with the club.<\/p>\n

There is still hope that Enzo Fernandez will sign a new contract, however his comments regarding a potential move to Real Madrid have not filled Chelsea fans with hope.<\/p>\n

Chelsea in talks to extend Trevoh Chalobah\u2019s contract<\/h2>\n

The Blues now have a core group of players they will be keen to build their side around, with one of those looking like Trevoh Chalobah despite previous efforts to sell him for pure profit.<\/p>\n

The centre-back has featured in 44 games in all competitions this season, and was recently described by Gary Cahill as the club\u2019s most reliable option at the back.<\/p>\n

It looks as if the Blues want to reward Chalobah by offering him a new deal, with journalist Nicolo Schira stating that the club have opened talks with their player.<\/p>\n

He said: \u201cExclusive. \u2013 Chelsea have opened talks to try to extend Trevoh Chalobah\u2019s contract.\u201d<\/p>\n

Chalobah\u2019s current deal is set to expire in the summer of 2028, meaning there are likely financial reasons behind the two parties entering negotiations.<\/p>\n

Chalobah one of the lowest paid players at Chelsea<\/h2>\n

Chalobah is currently on a salary of \u00a350,000-per-week (Capology), with only a few first team players coming in lower than that.<\/p>\n

One of those is Malo Gusto, who has been reported to be on the club\u2019s list of players to tie down for the future.<\/p>\n

Chalobah earns half the amount of Levi Colwill, and just a quarter of the \u00a3200,000-per-week which Wesley Fofana picks up.<\/p>\n

The revival of the England international to become one of the club\u2019s regulars from the brink of banishment is worthy in itself of a new contract.<\/p>\n
