1 May 2026 10:01 BST |<\/span> Chelsea have reportedly opened talks with Trevoh Chalobah as they look to finalise a contract extension agreement with the England defender.<\/p>\n Chalobah, 26, has two years remaining on his current deal at Stamford Bridge, although the Blues do have the option to extend this by a further 12 months if they wish.<\/p>\n The England star, who has one senior cap for his country and is in contention to be included in Thomas Tuchel\u2019s World Cup squad this summer, has been Chelsea\u2019s most consistent centre-back this season and the club are keen to finalise fresh terms.<\/p>\n That is according to transfer reporter Nicolo Schira<\/b>who has revealed that Chelsea have initiated negotiations with Chalobah in a bid to agree a new contract with the defender.<\/p>\n Chalobah has made 44 appearances across all competitions so far this season and he has been a regular at Stamford Bridge since returning from a short loan spell at Crystal Palace last January.<\/p>\n He was initially placed in Chelsea\u2019s \u2018Bomb Squad\u2019 upon the appointment of Enzo Maresca in 2024, and after being left out of their pre-season tour of the USA, his career at the club looked to be over.
