Manchester City are weighing up a summer move for Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez, according to reports.<\/p>\n

City are looking to fill the void left by Bernardo Silva, with the Portuguese international set to depart at the end of the season.<\/p>\n

And the long-term future of Spanish midfielder Rodri has also come into question, with the Ballon d\u2019Or winner indicating in March that he would welcome a return to Spain in the future.<\/p>\n

Pep Guardiola\u2019s side have had a long-standing interest in Nottingham Forest midfielder Elliot Anderson, who is also wanted by Manchester United.<\/p>\n

But The Athletic reports that City are also interested in a move for Fernandez, who joined Chelsea from Benfica for a then-British-record fee of \u00a3105million in 2023.<\/p>\n

In recent months, Fernandez has cast doubts over his long-term future at Stamford Bridge, telling Argentine media in March that he \u2018did not know\u2019 where his future lies beyond this summer\u2019s World Cup.<\/p>\n

The 25-year-old has also been linked with Real Madrid, and was suspended for two games by former boss Liam Rosenior after comments insinuating he would like to live in the Spanish capital.<\/p>\n

And speaking last month, Fernandez\u2019s agent, Javier Pastore, confirmed that the midfielder will consider his future at Chelsea if terms on a new contract can\u2019t be agreed after the World Cup.<\/p>\n

\u2018We decided to put that (contract talks) out of our minds and focus 100 per cent on the crucial fixtures with Chelsea and also the World Cup with Argentina, which will demand a great amount of concentration,\u2019 he told The Athletic. <\/p>\n

\u2018We don\u2019t want to get into discussions about figures, contracts and negotiations when the timing wasn\u2019t right.<\/p>\n

\u2018Our plan after the World Cup is to meet with Chelsea again and, if there is no agreement, to explore other options.\u2019<\/p>\n

Fernandez made his return from his ban last weekend in a 1-0 defeat to Manchester United, and played again in midweek as Chelsea lost 3-0 to Brighton in what proved to be Rosenior\u2019s last game in charge of the Blues.<\/p>\n

The Argentine has made 32 Premier League appearances this season, scoring eight goals and registering three assists. <\/p>\n
