The Polish international played half of Sunday’s league winning contest. Porto travel to AFS next week, before rounding off a triumphant season at home to Santa Clara on May 17.

In more successful news, Fabio Vieira scored a second-half winner for Hamburg on Sunday as they mathematically sealed Bundesliga safety with a 2-1 victory away at Eintracht Frankfurt. Trailing at the break at the Deutsche Bank Park, HSV turned it around with Fabio, who played the whole game, striking the decisive goal just before the hour mark. The Portuguese midfielder’s side now sit 12th in the Bundesliga with two still to play.

Reiss Nelson claimed an assist for Brentford last Monday, setting up Matthias Jensen to score late on in a 2-1 defeat at Old Trafford against Manchester United. Reiss was a second-half substitute in the Premier League clash, and then remained on the bench during Saturday’s 3-0 win over West Ham United. Brentford sit seventh in the table, with eyes firmly on potential Europa League qualification.

In Ligue 1, Marseille have slipped to seventh with two games remaining after a 3-0 defeat at Nantes on Sunday, as Ethan Nwaneri was among the substitutes. All three of the home side’s goals came within an eight-minute period in the second half, and the result leaves OM in danger of missing out on Europe next season altogether.

Moving north and into Sweden, it has been a terrific week on a personal note for Charles Sagoe Jr, who remarkably set up all four of Kalmar’s goals across their two recent Allsvenskan league matches. Starting last Monday, Charles assisted both in a 2-1 win over Elfsborg, playing 79 minutes. On Sunday, his side were beaten 3-2 away at leaders Sirius, but the young forward played 82 minutes and again laid on both goals which had put them into a two-goal half-time lead. The results leave Kalmar 14th after six matches.

In Denmark, Lucas Nygaard and his Brabrand side levelled in the second half to claim a 1-1 draw with Helsingor to remain ninth in the Danish Second Division, eight points clear of the relegation zone and stretching their unbeaten run to seven games. Will Sweet’s loan at Dagenham & Redbridge is now complete, with the National League South season having ended last week as Andy Carroll’s Daggers finished 13th.

The WSL and WSL 2 continued this week and featured several Gunners loanees. Rosa Kafaji started and played 57 minutes for Brighton & Hove Albion on Sunday as they came mighty close to an excellent win at Manchester United, agonisingly pegged back in second-half stoppage time for a 1-1 draw. Laila Harbert and Everton did not feature in the league this weekend.

In WSL 2, Jessie Gale played the final game of her loan spell with Bristol City and bowed out in style with a 4-0 win at Sheffield United on Sunday. While the result was not going to be enough to propel City into promotion contention, Jessie has enjoyed a stellar year of experience in the Women’s second tier, with both the Robins and previously Portsmouth.

It has been a week of drama for Maddy Earl and Glasgow City, who twice played rivals Celtic in the past week. Starting on Wednesday, Maddy was a late substitute in a 1-1 league draw, which leaves the side outside the Champions League qualification places only on goal difference with plenty still to play for. Then came Sunday’s Scottish Cup semi-final, where Glasgow were slenderly beaten 3-2 after extra time, Maddy remaining on the bench at Hampden Park.

Gyokeres joins elite club after hitting 20 goals

Copyright 2026 The Arsenal Football Club Limited.
