Despite the change of manager, Chelsea\u2019s Premier League form unfortunately was exactly the same as they succumbed to a 3-1 defeat to Nottingham Forest.<\/strong><\/p>\n

After five losses in a row without scoring in the league saw the end of Liam Rosenior, Calum McFarlane couldn\u2019t maintain the good feeling from the FA Cup semi-final victory over Leeds.<\/p>\n

In fact, Chelsea actually got off to their worst start to a game at Stamford Bridge in nine years by falling two goals behind in the first 15 minutes, and were unable to turn things around.<\/p>\n

Calum McFarlane says Chelsea squad are not hard to manage<\/h2>\n

Many believed the departure of Rosenior was going to be the turning point for a group of players who had clearly given up on their former manager. <\/p>\n

This didn\u2019t occur though, and McFarlane was asked by Sky Sports after the game whether that it was actually the players who are difficult to coach.<\/p>\n

He didn\u2019t agree with this though, stating: \u201cI wouldn\u2019t say that. I don\u2019t think we lacked effort and commitment. We got into some good situations in the second half, it wasn\u2019t down to a lack of effort.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe believe we will (stop the \u2018rot\u2019) we see the lads every day and they are doing everything they can. We need to move on quickly and it\u2019s about responding now.\u201d<\/p>\n

Champions League football is now out of the question, and qualifying for any form of European competition next season is looking extremely unlikely.<\/p>\n

Jesse Derry\u2019s heartbreaking Premier League debut<\/h2>\n

A lot of the concern after the game from McFarlane and Chelsea fans alike was regarding the condition of Jesse Derry after he was stretchered off on his Premier League debut.<\/p>\n

The 18-year-old won a penalty during a clash of heads in the penalty area, although Cole Palmer was unable to convert from 12 yards.<\/p>\n

McFarlane has given a positive update on Derry since the game, and admitted he was disappointed after what had been a bright Premier League debut.<\/p>\n

Hopefully it will not be too long before we see the teenager in action for the first team again.<\/p>\n
