Jamie Carragher says West Ham still have a realistic hope of Premier League survival after highlighting a major problem looming for Spurs.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Tottenham Hotspur leapfrogged West Ham to push the Hammers back into the bottom three after a disastrous weekend of results.<\/p>\n

\n

West Ham and bitter rivals Spurs are in a straight shootout for Premier League survival with three games to go.<\/p>\n

But it is now Roberto De Zerbi\u2019s side in control after they beat Aston Villa 2-1 following the Hammers\u2019 woeful 3-0 defeat at Brentford.<\/p>\n

Carragher says West Ham can stay up with warning to Spurs<\/h2>\n

West Ham now have to hope Tottenham Hotspur slip up in the final three games and that they can take advantage.<\/p>\n

The big issue for Nuno Espirito Santo\u2019s side is that they play title-chasing Arsenal next while Spurs have a much more winnable game at home against Leeds.<\/p>\n

Villa made seven changes to hand Tottenham their vital win.<\/p>\n

And Leeds could well be on the beach when they face Spurs after their victory over Burnley made them safe. <\/p>\n

Meanwhile Forest piled the pressure on West Ham and Tottenham by also making themselves all but officially safe with a stunning 3-1 win over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.<\/p>\n

With everything going against West Ham over the Bank Holiday weekend, many supporters, pundits and journalists believe the east Londoners are now doomed to relegation.<\/p>\n

But not Jamie Carragher, who has given West Ham survival hope with a warning to Tottenham.<\/p>\n

The Sky Sports pundit believes the Hammers can still stay in the Premier League at Tottenham\u2019s expense \u2013 as long as they take it to the final day when Nuno\u2019s side welcome Leeds to the London Stadium.<\/p>\n

And Carragher told Monday Night Football that is a possibility because he can see Spurs drawing with Leeds and losing to Chelsea while fancying West Ham to pick up a point against Arsenal.<\/p>\n

Carragher: Hammers can still relegate Spurs if they take it to the final day<\/h2>\n

\u201cAre they (West Ham) going to beat Arsenal? I find that very difficult to believe,\u201d Carragher said.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo they\u2019ve almost got to hope that Leeds could go there (to Spurs) and get a point. <\/p>\n

\u201cCould they (West Ham) get a point at home to Arsenal? Yes. <\/p>\n

\u201cIf they match Tottenham\u2019s result and then go to here (West Ham playing Newcastle away and Spurs facing Chelsea away), both tough games, I know Chelsea were awful today, but you can imagine the motivation inside that club and their supporters wanting to send Tottenham down. You can imagine that. <\/p>\n

\u201cThen you look at those two fixtures and you think, could West Ham get a better result than Spurs in that set-up? Because that would be a tough game away at Chelsea for Tottenham. That\u2019s the only thing I can think in terms of West Ham. <\/p>\n

\u201cBut this situation here gives Tottenham a great opportunity to sort of almost put it to bed.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s what West Ham have got to hope, that they can get it to the last day.\u201d<\/p>\n
