Levi Colwill played more minutes than expected as Chelsea lost to Nottingham Forest, and at full time Calum McFarlane spoke about the change.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n If you enjoy Chelsea News coverage and want to see more of it, add us as a preferred source on Google to make us a favourite and see more of our content.<\/em><\/p>\n One bright spot in Chelsea\u2019s defeat to Nottingham Forest was the introduction of Levi Colwill at half time.<\/p>\n The defender had made the matchday squad for the first time this season after recovering from an ACL injury, and ended up playing far more minutes than anyone expected.<\/p>\n \u201cNot necessarily (the plan), but he was ready for minutes,\u201d McFarlane explained when asked if a midway break was something pre-planned.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cWe thought it was the right time based on how we felt the second half was going to go \u2013 we felt that he could help us.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n The interim coach said it was \u201cone of the few positives\u201d from the game that Chelsea had Colwill back.<\/p>\n What that really means is that, with the game already basically lost, they felt the best use of the second period was to get some more match sharpness into Colwill, and perhaps try to use his good passing to try and create some chances.<\/p>\n Hopefully getting more time than anticipated can bring the date he can potentially start forward even further.<\/p>\n Romeo Lavia has been given a nice run in the team, but Monday\u2019s game was a reminder that he doesn\u2019t do enough offensively or defensively to justify a starting place.<\/p>\n Chelsea are apparently considering appointing Xavi Hernandez as their new coach, for the laughable reason that he fits with the \u201cfootball identity\u201d that we\u2019ve apparently established. <\/p>\n DOWNLOAD THE OFFICIAL CHELSEA NEWS APP FOR ALL THE LATEST UPDATES \u2013 STRAIGHT TO YOUR PHONE!
