Chelsea owners feeling the pressure ahead of managerial appointment<\/h2>\n

Reports stated that the Blues made an approach to former Barcelona manager Xavi over the vacancy. He has been out of a job for a couple of years now.<\/p>\n

He said: \u201cMy understanding, after checking, is there is nothing ongoing between Chelsea and Xavi. Zero contacts. There are different candidates, different names on the shortlist.<\/p>\n

When giving a further update on Chelsea\u2019s managerial search, Romano insisted the owners are well aware that they cannot get this next appointment run, after their recent track record.<\/p>\n

He said: \u201cChelsea continue their process to find a new manager. The feeling at the club is that they are still in the early stages. Talking to candidates, so it\u2019s going to be a really important month at Chelsea, because they can\u2019t miss on the manager. They know that.\u201d<\/p>\n
