{"id":4746,"date":"2026-05-06T09:34:56","date_gmt":"2026-05-06T09:34:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/playball.com.ng\/?p=4746"},"modified":"2026-05-06T09:34:56","modified_gmt":"2026-05-06T09:34:56","slug":"preview-brighton-v-arsenal-women-news","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/playball.com.ng\/?p=4746","title":{"rendered":"Preview: Brighton v Arsenal Women | News"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Our Barclays Women\u2019s Super League campaign gets back under way with a trip to Broadfield Stadium in Crawley to face Brighton &#038; Hove Albion at 7.45pm on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>We\u2019ll be looking to get back to winning ways following our disappointing 3-1 loss away to Lyon in the UEFA Women\u2019s Champions League semi-final second leg on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>There are still three games in hand for us over Chelsea and Manchester City, who are five and 11 points respectively ahead of us in the table. Should we win our next three games, the WSL title race will go down to the final day.<\/p>\n<h3>HARD TO BEAT<\/h3>\n<article data-entity-type=\"media\" data-entity-uuid=\"5749b9b1-2987-4ddc-bcf7-939f4ced9c78\" data-embed-button=\"image_embed\" data-entity-embed-display=\"view_mode:media.card\" data-entity-embed-display-settings=\"()\" data-langcode=\"en\" class=\"embedded-entity u-spacing-down--xxl\">\n<article>\n<\/article>\n<\/article>\n<p>The Seagulls have made themselves hard to beat in recent weeks, winning three and drawing two games in all competitions, including their Adobe Women\u2019s FA Cup quarter-final success against us, which setup a semi-final with Liverpool this weekend.<\/p>\n<p>Since then, Brighton produced a shock 3-2 win at home to Manchester City thanks to two goals from Madison Haley and one from Kiko Seike, before earning a 1-1 draw away to Manchester United by way of Jelena Cankovic\u2019s opener.<\/p>\n<p>Those results have them sixth in the WSL with 25 points from 20 games and a goal difference of 0, having scored and conceded 25 goals each.<\/p>\n<p>Seike is their top scorer in all competitions with 11 goals, including eight in the league.<\/p>\n<p>Gunners loanee Rosa Kafaji has been regularly involved in Brighton\u2019s matches this season, making 24 appearances so far in all competitions, but naturally she won\u2019t be eligible to play against us in this match.<\/p>\n<h3>WHAT THE MANAGERS SAY<\/h3>\n<article data-entity-type=\"media\" data-entity-uuid=\"b573a9db-036f-43b9-ada3-cff901ed63e1\" data-embed-button=\"video_embed\" data-entity-embed-display=\"view_mode:media.full\" data-video-embed-up-next-tray=\"default\" data-langcode=\"en\" data-entity-embed-display-settings=\"()\" class=\"embedded-entity u-spacing-down--xxl\">\n<\/article>\n<p><strong>Slegers: <\/strong>\u201cI think Brighton is a very good team.
