Especially after the north Londoners goaded the Hammers when they signed Mohammed Kudus from them last summer in the first deal between the two clubs for nearly 15 years.<\/p>\n<p>Instead, the Hammers now face the ignominy of demotion as a direct result of Tottenham showing more bottle than them when it mattered most.<\/p>\n<p>If Spurs send the Hammers down, they will never let them forget it. It would pale into insignificance compared to the ammunition West Ham had on Spurs after lasagne-gate.<\/p>\n<p>Frankly, it doesn\u2019t bear thinking about. of being replaced in the Premier League by arch rivals Millwall.<\/p>\n<p>When the Hammers had the momentum to survive, there was excitement that the rivalry with Millwall could be renewed in the top flight next season as the Lions looked in with a chance of automatic promotion.<\/p>\n<p>But West Ham are now favourites to fall into the second tier again while Millwall are favourites to be promoted via the play-offs.<\/p>\n<p>The Hammers\u2019 hated adversaries finished third in the Championship, missing out on automatic promotion by two points.<\/p>\n<p>As a result they are rewarded with the \u201ceasier\u201d play-off game against sixth-placed Hull.<\/p>\n<p>The winners will face either Southampton or Middlesbrough in the final.<\/p>\n<p>If Millwall come up while West Ham drop, it would take years to live down.<\/p>\n<p>With serious financial problems mounting in east London too, there\u2019s no guarantee West Ham would bounce straight back.<\/p>\n<p>If this unholy trinity of scenarios transpire it will make West Ham the butt of jokes among three of their big London rivals.<\/p>\n<p>And Hammers fans will never forgive the current owners for having to live out this
