Despite being just 18 when he arrived, it didn’t take him long to establish himself as an important first team player.<\/p>\n

Eight goals, including three in the Champions League, and four assists saw him waste no time reaching double figures for direct goal contributions. A hugely impressive milestone considering his age and inexperience in the Premier League.<\/p>\n

It hasn’t all been plain sailing for the teenager, though. He’s been brutally unlucky at times, too.<\/p>\n

A series of unfortunate injuries have ruled him out with his most recent \u2014 a hamstring tear against Manchester United last month \u2014 bringing his season to an abrupt end.<\/p>\n

Ruled out for the remainder of the campaign, Estevao will no longer have the chance to something no other Chelsea player has done since 2012-13.<\/p>\n

The Blues have just three Premier League games to play. They are preparing to travel to Anfield this weekend where they will face last season’s champions, Liverpool.<\/p>\n

Should Chelsea win on Saturday, it will be the first time they’ve done the league double over the Reds since the 2013-14 season. <\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Estevao’s winner in October’s reverse fixture put him on course to become the first teenager to score home, and away, against Liverpool since Lukaku did it 13 years ago.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
To this day, Lukaku’s record has not been equalled, and unfortunately, Estevao’s recent injury means he won’t even have the chance to try.<\/p>\n

It isn’t just Chelsea who have been impacted by the 19-year-old’s absence. Brazil have been too.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Carlo Ancelotti and his national team coaching staff were expecting the youngster to be one of the most exciting stars at this summer’s World Cup in North America.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Estevao’s chances of representing Selecao later this year have been left in tatters, though. <\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
He has been working on a rehabilitation program back in his home country in a desperate attempt to be fit enough to earn a call up but it remains unknown how far from full match fitness he still is.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
With the World Cup kicking off on June 11, and Brazil’s first group game against Morocco taking place two days later, time is very much against the Chelsea wonderkid.<\/p>\n
