{"id":5466,"date":"2026-05-07T16:53:11","date_gmt":"2026-05-07T16:53:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/playball.com.ng\/?p=5466"},"modified":"2026-05-07T16:53:11","modified_gmt":"2026-05-07T16:53:11","slug":"chelsea-reach-decision-on-selling-england-star-to-man-utd","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/playball.com.ng\/?p=5466","title":{"rendered":"Chelsea reach decision on selling England star to Man Utd"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div><!-- Article Start --><\/p>\n<p>Manchester United have received a blow in their quest to bring Cole Palmer to Old Trafford in the summer transfer window, with a report revealing that Chelsea owners, BlueCo, have no plans to sell him to the Red Devils.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Palmer<\/strong> is one of Chelsea\u2019s top players, and even though the attacking midfielder has not been at his best this season, Man Utd are keen on a 2026 summer deal.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Man Utd<\/strong> will play in the Champions League next season and plan to rebuild their midfield in the summer transfer window.<\/p>\n<p>The Red Devils\u2019 co-owners, <strong>INEOS, have identified Palmer as a potential signing this summer<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Palmer, a former Manchester City star, though, has turned down suggestions that he would be willing to leave <strong>Chelsea<\/strong> and Man Utd.<\/p>\n<p>The England international star told <em>The Guardian<\/em> on April 17: \u201cEveryone just talks. All my family are there, but I don\u2019t miss it.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMaybe I\u2019ll miss it if I don\u2019t go for three months or something. But then when I get home I think there\u2019s nothing there for me anyway.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve got no plans to move from Chelsea. We\u2019ve still got a lot to play for.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019ve got the FA Cup semi-final (against Leeds) and if we finish in a Champions League spot it puts us in a good position to sign players that we need.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe spoke to the owners and they\u2019re sure of the players that are gonna do it. About things we need, players we need to sign and how things need to be. He wouldn\u2019t sign a new contract if he didn\u2019t know what was going on.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>However, rumours persist, especially as Chelsea will not play in the Champions League next season.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Chelsea will not sell Cole Palmer to Man Utd<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><em>The Daily Mail<\/em>though, has claimed that Chelsea have no plans whatsoever to sell Palmer to Man Utd.<\/p>\n<p>The report, written by journalist Kieran Gill, has noted: \u2018While Palmer has sought to play down those United rumours publicly \u2013 and you can imagine there were those inside his club who hoped that might draw a line under such transfer talk \u2013 there remain sources outside of Chelsea who continue to claim he would consider such a move privately.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018However, that is still somewhat dependent on United deciding they want him. They already have Bruno Fernandes controlling the No 10 position so brilliantly that he is the frontrunner for the next Premier League Player of the Year award \u2013 he won my vote with the Football Writers\u2019 Association \u2013 so it is unclear whether they would even test the waters this summer.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018As sources inside Chelsea have insisted to <em>Daily Mail Sport<\/em>their stance is that they would reject any and all approaches regardless, and that he is going nowhere in the next window.\u2019<\/p>\n<p><strong>READ NEXT: Where would Arsenal rank in the greatest seasons by a Premier League club?
