Chelsea travel to Anfield on Saturday lunchtime to take on Liverpool in a huge game and Paul Merson has given his prediction.<\/p>\n

The Blues are languishing in ninth with just three games remaining, and facing the prospect of missing out on European football all together.<\/p>\n

Monday\u2019s defeat to Nottingham Forest was the sixth in a row in the league, and Chelsea haven\u2019t won a league game since the 4-1 win against Aston Villa in March.<\/p>\n

Paul Merson makes Liverpool vs Chelsea prediction<\/h2>\n

To make matters worse, the Blues are facing something of an injury crisis ahead of the game, with Jesse Derry set to miss the rest of the season.<\/p>\n

Calum McFarlane confirmed Robert Sanchez would also miss the game, whilst Pedro Neto and Alejandro Garnacho are unlikely to feature.<\/p>\n

That leaves Chelsea with no fit senior wingers, and having to field what will likely be an experimental line-up against the champions.<\/p>\n

Chelsea have been the worst team in the league form wise since February, and face a tough task getting anything at Anfield, and Merson has now given his prediction.<\/p>\n

\u201cChelsea are completely out of the equation for Champions League qualification in my opinion,\u201d he told Sportskeeda.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI was there at Stamford Bridge when they lost 3-1 to Nottingham Forest on Monday. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThey got absolutely destroyed and have now lost six straight games in the Premier League! Unbelievable run of poor form.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI also don\u2019t understand why they were playing Cole Palmer as a right-winger. He\u2019s a number ten just play him there! <\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI know Palmer has not impressed this season. But it also down to how Chelsea have set themselves up. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cJoao Pedro has been excellent but he is not a proper number nine, he likes to drop deep and that leaves little space for Palmer.<\/span><\/p>\n

I\u2019m backing the hosts to get a crucial win at Anfield.<\/span><\/p>\n
