Ex-Liverpool midfielder Danny Murphy thinks the Reds should consider making a move for Newcastle left-back Lewis Hall.<\/strong><\/p>\n The Merseysiders are likely to recruit a replacement for the departing Andy Robertson, and speaking to Betarades.gr, Murphy said Hall would be his pick, if the Magpies were willing to sanction his sale:<\/p>\n \u201cTo be honest, depending on what happens with the Newcastle situation, I\u2019m a huge fan of Lewis Hall. I think he\u2019s a wonderful player, a brilliant footballer, and when it comes to one-on-one defending, he\u2019s very, very good. It\u2019s probably unlikely you\u2019re gonna get him out because it it looks like Tonali might go and Gordon might go, but if Newcastle do have to sell and you can pinch him, even if you have to pay a bit more for him, he\u2019s still a young man, he\u2019s got the Premier League experience, and I think he\u2019s been one of Newcastle\u2019s shining lights this season.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cThere\u2019s a lot of great left backs out there not worth mentioning because I don\u2019t think you\u2019d tear them away from PSG, Bayern Munich, and they\u2019re at some of the biggest clubs in the world, and you\u2019d like to be able to grab them and take them, but I\u2019m not sure.\u201d<\/p>\n Newcastle signed the defender on a permanent basis from Chelsea for \u00a335m in the summer of 2024, and considering how negotiations for Alexander Isak got pretty ugly, you can\u2019t see the Magpies being accommodating when it comes to his price tag this summer.<\/p>\n Liverpool spent \u00a340m to sign Milos Kerkez from Bournemouth last summer, so it doesn\u2019t seem that plausible that sporting director Richard Hughes would be prepared to spend even more than that on Hall when other positions, especially in the forward line, are in greater need of strengthening.<\/p>\n Ironically, both players have also been linked with Manchester United, so there could be competition from the Red Devils no matter which one they choose to pursue.<\/p>\n Want more news on Liverpool?
