Nothing wrong with stating the obvious sometimes. It has definitely been reported on as if it could happen so good to clarify it won\u2019t.<\/p>\n<p>The only problem is this article from January 29. Michael Carrick is \u201cdisappointed\u201d and did react to a controversial thing involving Manchester City. But again, it is a deliberate choice to use such vague language around a \u2018controversial Man City decision\/call\u2019. Any mention of a \u2018controversial Man City decision\/call\u2019 since February 2023 is an intentional and calculated nod to the ongoing 115-charge nonsense, which automatically attracts more clicks due to the ridiculousness of the delay in reaching any sort of verdict.<\/p>\n<p>Every other outlet references the FA Youth Cup final \u2013 the actual source of this particular Manchester City-based controversy \u2013 in the headline.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Own Scholes and gaffes<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Elsewhere on the <strong>Daily Mirror website<\/strong>\u2018Paul Scholes refuses to back down on Arsenal after being laughed at by Ian Wright\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>By the first paragraph, not only does Scholes \u2018refuse to back down\u2019 \u2013 he now in fact \u2018has doubled down\u2019 and \u2018was not about to back away from his position\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s all great stuff for some quotes in which Scholes literally says \u201cI have had a little bit of a rethink\u201d before backing down a fair bit.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Write those wrongs<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>\u2018Forget the Ballon d\u2019Or \u2013 but there is one accolade Bruno Fernandes deserves\u2019 \u2013 Andy Dunn, <strong>Daily Mirror<\/strong>April 23 (spoiler: that \u2018one accolade\u2019 was at least one of the myriad Footballer of the Year awards).<\/p>\n<p>\u2018David Raya would be a very unlikely Footballer of the Year \u2013 but a very worthy one\u2019 \u2013 Andy Dunn, Daily Mirror, May 8.<\/p>\n<p>Can someone please start a petition to <strong>prevent football writers writing about who should win awards voted for by football writers<\/strong>?<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Party poopers<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>\u2018Man City players party until 1.30am 24 hours after handing Arsenal title advantage\u2019 \u2013 <strong>Daily Mirror website<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>You mean they <em>didn\u2019t<\/em> cancel Bernardo Silva and John Stones\u2019 leaving do to mark a decade\u2019s worth of service, just because they drew a game?<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Just Joshing<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>\u2018Exeter City release SIX players including Euro 2016 star after relegation on final day\u2019 \u2013 <strong>The Sun website<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>After triple-checking that Renato Sanches hadn\u2019t dropped down to League One, Mediawatch is happy to adjudicate on the \u2018Euro 2016 star\u2019 credentials of Josh Magennis.<\/p>\n<p>Thirty-three substitute minutes across the tournament.
