Add as preferred source on Google<\/span> <\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\nNuno Espirito Santo feels that West Ham United\u2019s ability to recover quickly from setbacks bodes well ahead of Sunday\u2019s clash with Premier League leaders Arsenal.<\/strong><\/p>\n It was Arsene Wenger who popularised the term \u2018bouncebackability\u2019 during his lengthy stint in charge of the Gunners.<\/p>\n So it is fitting, perhaps, that Nuno Espirito Santo would spend much of his pre-Arsenal press conference talking about the need for West Ham United to bounce back from what was a damaging, demoralising defeat at Brentford last time out.<\/p>\n West Ham would still be below Spurs on goal difference\u2026 \ud83d\ude2c<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n Nuno is preparing for the visit of Arsenal on a weekend which will go a long way to deciding both the title race and the relegation battle. <\/p>\n \u201cIt was a tough weekend for all of us (last time out). A bad result,\u201d says Nuno, whose side were leapfrogged by Tottenham Hotspur following an impressive 2-1 win at Villa Park for Roberto de Zerbi\u2019s outfit. <\/p>\n \u201cThe first half was positive (against Brentford). We performed well and had our moments, but overall it was a bad weekend. We have to react and bounce back.<\/p>\n \u201cWe\u2019ve always been able to react, during the games and during the season. It was a poor result, but the next one comes and we must manage to get a better result. <\/p>\n \u201cWe\u2019ve proven that, here at West Ham, nobody gives up. Let\u2019s go.\u201d<\/p>\n A look back at their results over the last few months does provide some evidence to support Nuno\u2019s argument. <\/p>\n The Hammers have lost only four of their last 13 Premier League matches. Furthermore, they have responded to the last three losses by winning the very next game.<\/p>\n One week after Chelsea came from 2-0 down at Stamford Bridge, West Ham travelled to Turf Moor and beat Burnley 2-0. Crysencio Summerville scored the winner away to Fulham days after Liverpool put five past Mads Hermansen at Anfield. <\/p>\n West Ham produced arguably their best performance of the entire campaign when obliterating Wolves 4-0 in their first outing since a drab 2-0 loss at Villa Park.<\/p>\n The Londoners have only lost successive league matches once in 2026. And those came against Wolves and Nottingham Forest in the first week of January. <\/p>\n On the other hand, when they do<\/em> lose, they often lose pretty badly. West Ham have lost seven matches by three or more goals in 2025\/26. If Arsenal were to rack up a 3-0 success on the road this weekend, that would see the Hammers equal a very unwanted feat achieved by Avram Grant\u2019s rock-bottom outfit in 2010\/11.<\/p>\nHow would a draw with Arsenal make you feel about our survival chances? \ud83e\udd14<\/h3>\n
