Chelsea have supposedly picked who they want to become Liam Rosenior\u2019s replacement out of Marco Silva, Andoni Iraola and Xabi Alonso, who have been the frontrunners.<\/strong><\/p>\n

First-team coach Calum McFarlane has taken interim charge since Liam Rosenior\u2019s departure, impressively guiding Chelsea into the 2026 FA Cup final, but results in the Premier League have been far from good.<\/p>\n

\n

As the summer approaches, the race to become the permanent successor has narrowed to three primary candidates. Xabi Alonso is one of the names in the running after he departs from Real Madrid, while Bournemouth\u2019s departing boss Andoni Iraola is another.<\/p>\n

And Fulham\u2019s Marco Silva completes the main shortlist, with the Portuguese boss delaying a new contract at Craven Cottage as he eyes a move to the highest level.<\/p>\n

Xabi Alonso is the favourite at Chelsea<\/h2>\n

According to journalist MaxFSport, Xabi Alonso is the one Chelsea would like to lead the project. <\/p>\n

However, he is cautious but hasn\u2019t said no yet, and Chelsea have other options if they can\u2019t convince him.<\/p>\n

This comes after reports claimed that Chelsea have agreed to let Alonso have more control over transfers at Stamford Bridge after talks with the Blues. <\/p>\n

No decision is close to being made though at this point, with many options still open.<\/p>\n

Jamie Carragher has ruled out Xabi Alonso at Chelsea<\/h2>\n

Despite all of the positive developments involving Xabi Alonso, Jamie Carragher believes that the Spaniard wouldn\u2019t dream of managing at Chelsea.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think you probably rule out the bottom three (Mourinho, Lampard and Conte). They\u2019ve managed Chelsea before, so I don\u2019t see that. I also don\u2019t see Glasner, because he plays with a back three.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ve had this conversation before. I don\u2019t see Xabi Alonso there, because of his link as a Liverpool player and Chelsea being a big rival at the time. I might be wrong on that.\u201d<\/p>\n
