Former Blue Shaun Wright Phillips has urged Joao Pedro to join Barcelona this summer if given the opportunity to do so.<\/p>\n

Chelsea signed Pedro last summer from Brighton in a deal worth up to \u00a360m, and he\u2019s been one of the only success stories at Stamford Bridge this season.<\/p>\n

The Brazilian has scored 20 goals in all competitions, with 15 of those coming in the Premier League, including a brilliant bicycle kick in the defeat to Nottingham Forest.<\/p>\n

Joao Pedro urged to join Barcelona<\/h2>\n

Pedro has made the number nine position his own, and has easily fought off competition from the struggling Liam Delap.<\/p>\n

The Brazil international is without doubt Chelsea\u2019s player of the season, and his form hasn\u2019t gone unnoticed by other clubs.<\/p>\n

Pedro has emerged as a target for Spanish champions Barcelona, although Chelsea\u2019s stance is said to be that he\u2019s not for sale.<\/p>\n

However, with the prospect of no Champions League football, Wright Phillips has urged Pedro to join Barcelona if given the opportunity.<\/p>\n

\u201cI believe it would be fantastic for Joao if he were to go,\u201d Wright-Phillips said as quoted by The Standard.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cPersonally, given the way Chelsea has been run, if I were him, I would do everything to complete this transfer.<\/p>\n

\u201cPlaying at Camp Nou, alongside Raphinha and (Lamine) Yamal, would be great for him. He would score many goals, since we have already seen what he did in a team that wasn\u2019t as good as this Chelsea team.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cIf I were <\/span>Joao Pedro, I would want to play in the <\/span>Champions League, and I can\u2019t see Chelsea qualifying for any European competition.<\/p>\n
