Wayne Rooney felt Chelsea were the better team against Liverpool as he singled out Marc Cucurella for praise.<\/p>\n

Chelsea stopped a run of six consecutive league defeats as they fought back from a goal down to draw 1-1 at Anfield.<\/p>\n

Ryan Gravenberch opened the scoring after six minutes before Enzo Fernandez equalised in the first half, but neither team were able to find a winner.<\/p>\n

Whilst the point stops the rot, it does little to help Chelsea\u2019s fading hopes of qualifying for European football through the league.<\/p>\n

Chelsea put in a much improved showing from previous weeks, and arguably should have won the game, whilst they were unfortunate not to be awarded a penalty late on for what looked like a foul on Joao Pedro.<\/p>\n

Levi Colwill was brilliant on his first start since the Club World Cup final last summer, whilst Cucurella was a real threat down the left wing all afternoon.<\/p>\n

Rooney felt Chelsea were the better side on Saturday afternoon, and the Manchester United legend singled Cucurella out for praise.<\/p>\n

\u201cI thought Liverpool actually started quite well, got the goal, and then from there Chelsea were the better team,\u201d Rooney told <\/span>BBC Sport.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey caused Liverpool big problems, especially Marc Cucurella running behind.\u201d<\/p>\n
