Jose Mourinho has cast doubt over his long-term future at Benfica after being mentioned in rumours following Liam Rosenior\u2019s sacking at Chelsea.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Jose Mourinho\u2019s relationship with Benfica has come full circle. Interestingly, he\u2019s currently got the Portuguese club on the brink of an invincible season, despite being in third position right now.<\/p>\n

This second stint mirrors the drama of his first in 2000, when he famously resigned after just nine games following a contract dispute with a newly elected president. Now, a critical ten-day window at the end of this season will determine if he continues his project or seeks a new challenge elsewhere.<\/p>\n

His legendary status was largely forged at Chelsea, where he remains the club\u2019s most successful manager. Across two spells, Mourinho delivered three Premier League titles, three League Cups, and an FA Cup, which is very much a distant dream under the current owners. <\/p>\n

Jose Mourinho is uncertain over his future<\/h2>\n

While he has spoken about finishing his project in Lisbon, his future is uncertain. Rumors link Mourinho to Real Madrid or a return to Chelsea, and he has recently been vague about his plans. <\/p>\n

He insists that his stay depends on the club\u2019s long-term vision. <\/p>\n

\u201cWhen the season ends, we\u2019ll have 10 days to continue or part ways\u201d.<\/p>\n

Mourinho would never manage under the current owners<\/h2>\n

Interestingly, Mourinho said last year that he felt Chelsea were heading in the right direction after picking up silverware under Enzo Maresca.<\/p>\n

\u201cEven from the outside, I wondered about Chelsea\u2019s identity as a club, but the last season put things back on track. They gave trust in Enzo, he brought his ideas, and he fit the philosophy of the club. The Conference League is an easy club for a big club to win \u2013 I did it with Roma \u2013 it is quite easy for a big club.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Club World Cup, I also say the Champions League is much more important, but the badge means a lot. It means a lot to be the first club to win that Club World Cup. It gives them a base of trust and confidence.<\/p>\n

\u201cI feel it at the supporters level. I live five minutes from here and we know the Chelsea population. It was a period of doubt but now it is a period of happiness and trust. I think Chelsea is back on track.\u201d<\/p>\n
