I\u2019m aware there\u2019s been talk of Tottenham reaching an agreement in principle to sign Bournemouth centre-back Marcos Senesi, so I thought I\u2019d chip in with the information I\u2019m currently getting.<\/strong><\/p>\n

As I recently reported here, Senesi has attracted interest from Spurs, who have indeed touched base with his representatives over a potential free transfer this summer.<\/p>\n

The Argentine is close to being a free agent as he\u2019s decided he won\u2019t sign a new contract at Bournemouth, but for now I\u2019m not currently aware of him agreeing anything with any other club.<\/p>\n

Sources in the industry have told me that Tottenham are indeed \u201cin advanced talks\u201d over signing Senesi, but nothing can be fully agreed until the club know if they\u2019ll still be in the Premier League next season.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s not agreed yet. Spurs are in advanced talks, they\u2019re really keen on the player, but no final decision yet,\u201d one source said.<\/p>\n

Marcos Senesi transfer yet to be fully agreed<\/h2>\n

It may be that Senesi is leaning towards Spurs if they stay up, but my understanding is that other clubs like Liverpool remain in the race for his signature.<\/p>\n

The Reds are exploring the centre-backs market as they\u2019re really keen to add depth even if Ibrahima Konate stays and signs a new contract.<\/p>\n

Senesi is one name they like, as is Juventus defender Pierre Kalulu. Both players are also on the radar of Manchester United as they\u2019re another club in the market for someone in that position.<\/p>\n

I previously mentioned the likes of Atletico Madrid, Barcelona, and Chelsea also being keen on Senesi, but it now seems their interest has cooled. Meanwhile, the player is understood to have rejected offers from Juventus and Borussia Dortmund as they didn\u2019t meet his demands.<\/p>\n

Can Tottenham stay up?<\/h2>\n

It\u2019s a vital few weeks ahead for Tottenham as they face a fight to survive in the Premier League, with Roberto De Zerbi\u2019s side currently two points from safety.<\/p>\n

THFC would surely ideally be preparing summer moves now, but the uncertainty over the north London club\u2019s situation makes it harder for obvious reasons.<\/p>\n

Senesi and others would likely be open to joining Spurs if they are still in the top flight, as the project could have big potential under De Zerbi, but that means scraping through the next few games first.<\/p>\n
