West Ham have been given the kiss of life in the battle for survival with Spurs and there was another boost from arch rivals Millwall too.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Hammers have been written off as relegation certainties since the harsh defeat to Arsenal on Sunday.<\/p>\n

\n

But West Ham now have fresh hope of survival after brilliant Leeds held Tottenham Hotspur to a 1-1 draw in north London on Monday evening.<\/p>\n

Things could have been even better for West Ham because Spurs were extremely fortunate not to lose the game.<\/p>\n

West Ham can climb out of relegation zone with a game to go<\/h2>\n

Tottenham survived a very questionable VAR offside call when the graphic used to justify the decision did not match the actual footage that appeared to show Dominic Calvert-Lewin was played onside before being fouled for what would have been a certain penalty to Leeds.<\/p>\n

The Elland Road outfit did West Ham and the Premier League proud, though, restoring some much needed integrity to the division with a fantastic display as they responded brilliantly to going 1-0 down.<\/p>\n

Calvert-Lewin may have been denied a penalty in the first half but he got his chance after the break when Spurs goalscorer Mathys Tel scissor-kicked Ethan Ampadu in the head in the box.<\/p>\n

Calvert-Lewin, turned down by then West Ham boss Graham Potter on a free last summer, made no mistake from the spot.<\/p>\n

Leeds then took the game to Spurs and twice went agonisingly close to getting a deserved winner.<\/p>\n

The match finished 1-1 after 13 added minutes, which increases Tottenham\u2019s gap on West Ham to two points with two games to play.<\/p>\n

Ahead of the game, Hammers News outlined the minor Spurs miracle West Ham needed to stay in the Premier League.<\/p>\n

Part one of that miracle has come in for Nuno Espirito Santo\u2019s Hammers.<\/p>\n

West Ham\u2019s monumental boost from fiercest rivals Spurs and Millwall<\/h2>\n

West Ham now know that they can climb out of the relegation zone and above Tottenham with a win at Newcastle on Sunday.<\/p>\n

That would pile pressure on shaky Spurs when they head to fierce rivals Chelsea two days later.<\/p>\n

Tottenham have a terrible record at Stamford Bridge. <\/p>\n

Another defeat there for Spurs would then leave West Ham in control of their own destiny heading into the final day against Leeds.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile Roberto De Zerbi\u2019s side host David Moyes\u2019 European chasing Everton and West Ham will be hoping for a big favour from their former boss.<\/p>\n

Tottenham\u2019s draw was not the only huge boost for the Irons on Monday night.<\/p>\n

Because the ignominy of being replaced in the Premier League by Millwall is no longer a concern for West Ham if they do end up dropping.<\/p>\n

West Ham\u2019s arch rivals Millwall just missed out on automatic promotion from the Championship.<\/p>\n

Their reward for finishing third was to face sixth-placed Hull City, who snuck into the play-offs on the final day.<\/p>\n

After a 0-0 draw away at Hull on Friday night, Millwall were favourites to get the job done in London on Monday night.<\/p>\n

But the Lions lost 2-0 to crash out yet again.<\/p>\n

That means if West Ham are relegated there will at least be the prospect of renewing rivalries with Millwall in the second tier to look forward to.<\/p>\n

For now, though, there is still life in West Ham\u2019s survival hopes.<\/p>\n

West Ham could even stay up with just four points if Spurs do not win at least one of their remaining two games.<\/p>\n

Things just got interesting again \u2013 it\u2019s game on in the relegation battle, now West Ham must step up to the plate.<\/p>\n
