Chelsea are keeping their options open despite holding positive conversations with Xabi Alonso according to reports.<\/p>\n

The Blues are in the midst of searching for another head coach after they sacked Liam Rosenior last month, less than four months after appointing him.<\/p>\n

Rosenior became the second head coach to depart Stamford Bridge this season, following Enzo Maresca\u2019s January exit.<\/p>\n

Chelsea keeping options open despite positive Xabi Alonso talks<\/h2>\n

Chelsea are thought to have a shortlist of five or six names, with Alonso and Andoni Iraola believed to be the preferred candidates at this stage.<\/p>\n

The Blues are said to have carried out checks on Marco Silva, Filipe Luis and Oliver Glasner, but they\u2019r believed to be lower down in the club\u2019s thinking currently.<\/p>\n

Chelsea reportedly feel Iraola is ready to take on a big job, whilst Alonso has already managed at the highest level.<\/p>\n

Alonso is said to be the preferred candidate, but The Guardian have reported despite holding positive talks the Blues are keeping their options open.<\/p>\n

The report adds Chelsea\u2019s hierarchy are confident of getting their favoured candidate, whilst there\u2019s optimism after early talks with Alonso\u2019s camp.<\/p>\n

Alonso has been out of work since being sacked by Real Madrid in January, whilst he guided Bayer Leverkusen to their first Bundesliga title in an unbeaten season.<\/p>\n
