Getting the most out of Reece James is going to be top on the list for whoever becomes the new Chelsea manager, however Xabi Alonso has the credentials to turn the skipper into one of the best in the league again.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Reece James has enjoyed his most prolific season for a number of years in terms of minutes on the pitch, even if he has been absent in recent weeks.<\/p>\n

Many believe how Enzo Maresca used the club captain has played a part in this, He often cropped up in the middle of midfield where the work-rate is not as extreme.<\/p>\n

Xabi Alonso can get the best out of Reece James<\/h2>\n

Xabi Alonso\u2019s favoured right-back during his time in charge of Bayer Leverkusen was Jeremie Frimpong, who was keen to get forward and join the attack.<\/p>\n

This may not suit James based on his fitness record, however the role of Alejandro Grimaldo in that side is one that could suit the England international perfectly.<\/p>\n

The Spaniard\u2019s average position was a lot deeper than Frimpong\u2019s, however the focus for him was creating chances from this role.<\/p>\n

There are no better technical players in the current Chelsea squad than James, and his ability to deliver pinpoint crosses from all sorts of angles can be a serious weapon.<\/p>\n

Joao Pedro has shown he has the goalscoring touch at Stamford Bridge since his arrival, and would relish the opportunity for more chances to be created for him.<\/p>\n

Marc Cucurella can form the perfect duo with Reece James under Alonso<\/h2>\n

During Chelsea\u2019s recent draw with Liverpool, it was very noticeable that the Blues had lined up in a formation which greatly suited Alonso\u2019s style of play.<\/p>\n

Marc Cucurella operated in a very high position, getting the better of Frimpong on multiple occassions in a role he previously played.<\/p>\n

Alonso could in theory flip the full-back dynamic he used at Leverkusen and get the best out of those he has at his disposal already at Stamford Bridge.<\/p>\n

It remains to be seen how many new signings the incoming manager will get, although reports have claimed that Alonso wants two<\/p>\n
