Chelsea have met Andoni Iraola and believe the Spaniard is more than ready to take on a big job according to reports.<\/p>\n

The Blues are in the midst of searching for a new head coach having sacked Liam Rosenior last month, less than four months after appointing him.<\/p>\n

Rosenior became the second head coach to leave Stamford Bridge this season following the departure of Enzo Maresca in January.<\/p>\n

Chelsea believe Iraola is ready to take on big job<\/h2>\n

There\u2019s understood to be a shortlist of five or six names for the job, with Iraola and Xabi Alonso believed to be the favoured candidates.<\/p>\n

Chelsea are thought to have carried out checks on Marco Silva, Filipe Luis and Oliver Glasner, but they aren\u2019t said to feature as highly in the club\u2019s thinking currently.<\/p>\n

Iraola is attracting strong interest from Crystal Palace, who could be playing Europa League football next season if they win the Conference League.<\/p>\n

Alonso is said to be Chelsea\u2019s preferred choice, but The Guardian have reported the Blues have met with Iraola to speak with him about the role.<\/p>\n

The report adds there\u2019s a respect for the job he\u2019s done at Bournemouth, and a sense he\u2019s more than capable of taking on a big job.<\/p>\n

Chelsea are believed to want their new head coach in place before the start of the World Cup next month.<\/p>\n
