The next Chelsea manager will have a number of big decisions to make ahead of the summer transfer window.<\/h2>\n <\/p>\n\n

If Xabi Alonso were to become the next Chelsea head coach, he could immediately axe as many as seven players. The former Bayer Leverkusen and Real Madrid boss has emerged as one of several candidates for the vacancy at Stamford Bridge as the Blues look to appoint a permanent successor to Liam Rosenior.<\/p>\n
football.london <\/strong>understands that Chelsea have shortlisted Alonso as an option to take the hot seat in west London. Chelsea want to have a new boss in the dugout before the end of next month, leaving plenty of time to streamline the squad in the transfer window.<\/p>\nIt’s understood that the Blues want to sign a centre-back, a central midfielder, and a left-winger this summer. But, at the moment, the five-man sporting leadership team are focused on the process of appointing a new head coach.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, a section of the the dressing room will be sweating over their future. Many have struggled to impress this season, putting Chelsea in danger of failing to qualify for either of UEFA’s three club competitions.<\/p>\n

Sky has upgraded its Ultimate TV and Sky Sports bundle to now include HBO Max, Netflix, Disney+, discovery+ and Hayu, as well as 135 channels and full Sky coverage of the Premier League and EFL.<\/p>\n

Alejandro Garnacho<\/strong><\/h3>\nGarnacho, whom Chelsea signed from Manchester United for \u00a340million in the summer, has been unfairly scrutinised during his time at Stamford Bridge. The winger arrived with a reputation as something of a troublemaker, but his attitude has been exemplary.<\/p>\n
He has a habit of being exactly where you want him to be in the final third, and, as he matures on the pitch, he\u2019ll grow out of his wastefulness. But, that being said, the Blues need to sign a world-class left-winger in the summer if they want to reach the next level.<\/p>\n
Jamie Gittens, who Chelsea signed from Borussia Dortmund for about \u00a350m, has missed much of the campaign due to injury. Even when he was fit, the 21-year-old was rarely given a chance to impress, so Garnacho could be forced to take the fall.<\/p>\n
Marco Guiu<\/strong><\/h3>\nGuiu hasn’t had a look in this season. The 20-year-old striker, whom the Blues signed from Barcelona for just \u00a35m in July 2024, enjoyed a promising debut campaign, and, just as he looked set for a spell in the starting lineup, he suffered an injury.<\/p>\n
Eager to give Guiu more opportunities, Chelsea sent him on loan to Sunderland in the summer, but he was swiftly recalled when Nicolas Jackson forced a move to Bayern Munich. The Spaniard has started just five games this term, playing just over 500 minutes.<\/p>\n
Benoit Badiashile<\/strong><\/h3>\nAs part of a long-overdue shake-up at the back, Badiashile could be axed this summer. The 25-year-old defender, whom the Blues signed from Monaco for \u00a335m in January 2023, has struggled to make his mark at Stamford Bridge.<\/p>\n
With Levi Colwill back from injury and Jorrel Hato maturing into a far more reliable option, there’s little to no light at the end of the tunnel for Badiashile. The Frenchman can hardly rebrand himself as a right-sided centre-half either, with Wesley Fofana, Trevoh Chalobah and Josh Acheampong all set to compete for the new manager’s trust.<\/p>\n
Tosin Adarabioyo<\/strong><\/h3>\nApart from a respectable display in the FA Cup semi-final against Leeds earlier this month, Adarabioyo has hardly covered himself in glory this season. The 28-year-old defender joined Chelsea on a free in the summer of 2024, so any potential sale would go down as a profit on the books.<\/p>\n
Three Chelsea loanees on thin ice<\/strong><\/h3>\nAs many as three Chelsea players who are currently on loan could be axed by the new boss, too. Axel Disasi, despite his impressive performances for West Ham, Tyrique George, who has not really set the world alight at Everton, and Nicolas Jackson seem to face uncertain futures.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
