Chelsea could encounter a problem if they hire Xabi Alonso and don\u2019t allow him to manage how he wants to according to Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Blues are yet again searching for another head coach having sacked Liam Rosenior last month, less than four months after appointing him.<\/p>\n

Rosenior became the second head coach to exit Stamford Bridge this season, following the departure of Enzo Maresca in January.<\/p>\n

Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink on Xabi Alonso and Chelsea<\/h2>\n

Chelsea are believed to want their new head coach in place before the start of the World Cup next month, with there said to be a five or six man shortlist.<\/p>\n

Xabi Alonso is reportedly the preferred candidate, whilst Andoni Iraola is said to be strong contender, with Chelsea also thought to have made checks on Marco Silva, Oliver Glasner and Filipe Luis.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s been reported Chelsea have held positive initial conversations with Alonso, and he\u2019s said to be open to managing in the Premier League.<\/p>\n

If the Blues were able to appoint the Spaniard it would be seen as a real coup, but Hasselbaink has identified a potential problem.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t think he did that badly at Real Madrid,\u201d he told Sky Sports News as quoted by X.com.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThe problem is he wants to manage how he wants to manage and he feels that the players have to follow him. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cStars are a little bit different, you need the support of the club. If Chelsea chooses him, you have to give him the keys.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve always said that whoever you choose, you have to give them the keys and the players need to know that he is the decision-maker.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
