Xabi Alonso wants assurances over certain elements at Chelsea, including a say over signings before accepting the job according to reports.<\/p>\n

Chelsea are once again in the midst of searching for a new head coach having sacked Liam Rosenior last month, less than four months after appointing him.<\/p>\n

Rosenior became the second head coach to leave Stamford Bridge this season, following Enzo Maresca\u2019s exit in January.<\/p>\n

Xabi Alonso wants a say in transfer before accepting Chelsea job<\/h2>\n

Chelsea reportedly want to have their new head coach in place before the start of the World Cup next month, with there thought to be a shortlist of five or six names.<\/p>\n

Alonso is believed to be the preferred candidate, whilst Andoni Iraola remains a strong candidate to replace Rosenior.<\/p>\n

Chelsea are said to have made checks on Marco Silva, Filipe Luis and Oliver Glasner, but they aren\u2019t thought to feature highly in their thinking currently.<\/p>\n

The Blues are said to have held positive talks with Alonso, with more progress on a potential deal expected after Saturday\u2019s FA Cup final.<\/p>\n

Chelsea\u2019s players are thought to feel Alonso is the ideal candidate, but The Guardian have reported he wants assurances over certain elements at the club, including a say over signings.<\/p>\n

The report adds early indications are Chelsea are prepared to give Alonso what he needs, and they seemingly have a free run at the Spaniard currently.<\/p>\n
