One Chelsea manager target on their list is apparently now wanted by the former club of Xabi Alonso, ironically.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Alonso is now being heavily pursued by Chelsea as their number one target for new manager this summer as they look for a permanent replacement for Liam Rosenior.<\/p>\n

Alonso is a very popular choice amongst the Chelsea fan base, but he isn\u2019t the only manager they are linked with or are apparently looking at.<\/p>\n

One option who is named in most reports is former Chelsea player Filipe Luis, who is also available this summer.<\/p>\n

However, it looks like Alonso\u2019s former club Bayern Leverkusen are now courting Luis and have him under consideration for their new manager this summer in what could be an ironic twist in this story.<\/p>\n

Patrick Berger of Sky Germany posted on X last night:<\/p>\n

“The separation from coach Kasper Hjulmand <\/span>is considered all but official internally at Bayern 04 Leverkusen. Talks with candidates are already underway behind the scenes. According to Sky sources, Filipe Luis<\/span>who is currently without a contract after his Flamengo exit and whose \u20ac15m clause is no longer valid, as well as Michel <\/span>from Girona, are candidates.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
