We take a look at how much compensation Tottenham Hotspur have paid to sack managers across the Premier League era, and how it compares to the other big six clubs.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Spurs have not been able to have much consistency in the dugout since Mauricio Pochettino\u2019s departure in 2019, with plenty of managers coming and going over the past seven years.<\/p>\n

The most recent permanent manager to be sacked (Igor Tudor was an interim) was Thomas Frank, who was paid a compensation of \u00a38m by Spurs after lasting just eight months in the job.<\/p>\n

Tottenham want Roberto De Zerbi to break that trend and oversee a long-term project at N17 after handing the Italian a five-year deal.<\/p>\n

Tottenham have spent the second most on sacking managers out of the big six<\/h2>\n

FootballBlog.co.uk have crunched the numbers and revealed how much each of the big six clubs have paid in compensation to sacked managers across the Premier League era.<\/p>\n

Fans will not be surprised to hear that Chelsea have spent the most on compensation, with the Blues having sacked 18 manages and paid a whopping \u00a3161.6m in total to managers on their way out.<\/p>\n

Tottenham are second on the list, with the club paying \u00a366.5m in compensation cumulatively to the 14 managers they have sacked since the inception of the Premier League.<\/p>\n

Man United are not too behind, having paid \u00a362.03m to outgoing managers, but they have paid that amount to just six managers.<\/p>\n

Which former Spurs manager has received the biggest payoff?<\/h2>\n

No Tottenham manager features in the list of top five most expensive managerial sackings in the Premier League era, with the \u00a326.6m compensation paid to Antonio Conte by Chelsea in 2018 holding the record.<\/p>\n

The most Spurs have paid to an outgoing manager is when they sacked Nuno Espirito Santo in 2021, with the Portugese being the seventh most expensive sacking in Premier League history.<\/p>\n

Nuno lasted just 124 days in the Tottenham hotseat after replacing Jose Mourinho, and he recieved a whopping \u00a314m on his way out of the club.<\/p>\n
