They are believed to be gearing up for a rebuild of the squad under the watch of the next manager. Whether it will be Xabi Alonso or someone else remains to be seen.

The Blues’ transfer policy could also witness a shift, as BlueCo’s vision has yet to show any results. In fact, it has received criticism from some of their own players.

Now the club are not only looking to introduce more experience to their squad but also cut short some of their players’ tenure at Stamford Bridge. In their financial condition, that is necessary to be able to make signings of their own.

Probable Chelsea departures this summer

As recent reports suggest, players like Liam Delap, Nicolas Jackson, Benoit Badiashile, Axel Disasi and more could well be on their way out of the club this summer.

Marc Guiu is another name which could be added to that list. According to Sports Boom, the former Barcelona striker looks increasingly likely to move on this summer.

The report suggests that Coventry City are among the clubs tracking Guiu. A number of sides in La Liga are also monitoring the Chelsea forward. The Blues will be ready to listen to transfer offers around €20-25 million this summer.

Marc Guiu’s time at Stamford Bridge so far

Guiu was brought into the side from Barcelona during the summer of 2024 for a transfer fee of around €6 million. He scored six goals in his debut season with Chelsea.

The 20-year-old scored all six goals in the Conference League, including a hat-trick against Shamrock Rovers. But the Spanish number nine has found it difficult to get minutes in the Premier League as he has been further pushed down the pecking order since the Blues’ additions of Joao Pedro and Delap last summer.

As a result, Guiu was loaned out to Sunderland at the start of the season. But he was quickly called back within a month after Delap’s injury, and since then, he has only made eight appearances in the league this season for the Blues.

Despite being given minimal time on the pitch, the striker has scored two goals and provided two assists in all competitions for the Blues this season. It shows the positive impact he can make for any side.

Guiu could be looking for a summer exit

The Spaniard certainly would want to get more minutes. But as it stands, he might not have his targets fulfilled at the Bridge, which might lead to a move away from West London. Frank Lampard’s newly-promoted Coventry City are emerging as a potential destination.

The question which now arises is whether Coventry agree upon such a significant fee for the 20-year-old striker right away. Or will they look to do a loan deal for Guiu? The former would be better for Chelsea’s transfer window. But then, there is also the chance that the Spaniard could turn out to be a top striker.

After yet another underpar season from Chelsea, the Blues are looking forward to the upcoming…

[4

post-8931","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-chelsea
["GET
