Many Tottenham Hotspur fans are well aware of their club\u2019s struggles at the Bridge, with Spurs having managed just one win there throughout their history.<\/p>\n

But if they are to give themselves a chance of beating the drop to the Championship this season, Tottenham must get a result at their rivals\u2019 home.<\/p>\n

Ahead of the game between Chelsea and Tottenham, Paul Merson has now sent in his score prediction for the Premier League clash.<\/p>\n

Speaking about the fixture, Merson explained why he believes Chelsea will edge the contest, while also admitting Spurs have improved under Roberto De Zerbi. The former Arsenal man shared his thoughts with Sportskeeda.<\/p>\n

He said, \u201cI\u2019m going for a Chelsea win because this is their cup final every season! A lot of Chelsea fans would rather win against Tottenham on Tuesday than beat Manchester City in the FA Cup final! Or I should say most Chelsea fans are in the middle of feeling this way, let us put it that way.<\/p>\n

\u201cI say that because the last thing they need is Tottenham staying up in the Premier League with a result at Stamford Bridge. No Chelsea fan would want to witness that.<\/p>\n

\u201cRoberto De Zerbi has certainly improved Spurs. They will be confident in this game, especially since Chelsea are involved in the FA Cup this weekend. Tottenham may only need a point here, if West Ham end up losing to Newcastle. But like I said earlier, I see this relegation battle going down to the last day of the season.<\/p>\n

\u201cChelsea win and a clean sheet. I do not even know why I am backing Chelsea to keep a clean sheet, but it is what it is!\u201d<\/p>\n

Tottenham cannot afford a Stamford Bridge defeat<\/h2>\n

Merson\u2019s prediction, should it play out in real time, will spell disaster for Tottenham Hotspur depending on how results elsewhere unfold.<\/p>\n

Should Spurs lose and West Ham beat Newcastle United, then Tottenham will head into their final game against Everton in the relegation zone.<\/p>\n

That sort of result would take Spurs\u2019 destiny out of their hands, significantly damaging their chances of survival.<\/p>\n
