{"id":9038,"date":"2026-05-16T07:29:22","date_gmt":"2026-05-16T07:29:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/playball.com.ng\/?p=9038"},"modified":"2026-05-16T07:29:22","modified_gmt":"2026-05-16T07:29:22","slug":"preview-liverpool-v-arsenal-women-pre-match-report-news","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/playball.com.ng\/?p=9038","title":{"rendered":"Preview: Liverpool v Arsenal Women | Pre-Match Report | News"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Our final Barclays Women\u2019s Super League game of the season takes place against Liverpool at Anfield at 1pm on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>We\u2019re looking to end the season on a high with a win that would secure second position and book our place in next season\u2019s UEFA Women\u2019s Champions League group phase.<\/p>\n<p>A draw would also likely be enough to finish second, as we go into the weekend with a goal difference of 37 compared to Chelsea\u2019s 23, should they go level on points with us after their game against Manchester United.<\/p>\n<h3>FINE MARGINS<\/h3>\n<article data-entity-type=\"media\" data-entity-uuid=\"7ef93248-ee6f-4acf-a4c7-7e9865740f47\" data-embed-button=\"image_embed\" data-entity-embed-display=\"view_mode:media.card\" data-entity-embed-display-settings=\"()\" data-langcode=\"en\" class=\"embedded-entity u-spacing-down--xxl\">\n<article>\n<\/article>\n<\/article>\n<p>Liverpool have lost their last three games in all competitions, all by one goal. They were beaten 1-0 at home to West Ham United towards the end of April, before suffering another 1-0 loss away to Manchester City. <\/p>\n<p>That was followed by Adobe Women\u2019s FA Cup semi-final elimination to Brighton &#038; Hove Albion in a 3-2 home defeat last Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s been a disappointing league campaign for Gareth Taylor\u2019s side, who find themselves 11th in the WSL with 17 points from 21 matches, so they\u2019re comfortably clear of bottom-placed Leicester City, but have only managed to win four topflight fixtures this term.<\/p>\n<p>There was an important upturn in form though this calendar year.
