Axel Disasi has been a brilliant signing for West Ham\u00a0United\u00a0but one of the missions he embarked on when moving to east London has sadly failed. <\/strong><\/p>\n

It is difficult to imagine West Ham United even being\u00a0in a position\u00a0to dream of Premier League safety without the January arrival of\u00a0Disasi. <\/p>\n

Since signing on loan from Chelsea in late January,\u00a0Disasi\u00a0has had a transformative impact at West Ham,\u00a0significantly\u00a0improving their\u00a0defence. <\/p>\n

Indeed, the Frenchman has been such a success that West Ham\u00a0want\u00a0to sign him permanently, although that of course depends on the club securing Premier League survival. <\/p>\n

This season can yet be a success for\u00a0Disasi, although his dream of going to another World Cup with France is over. <\/p>\n

Disasi officially left out of France\u2019s World Cup squad <\/h2>\n

Part of the season the defender joined West Ham was to get back to playing football in time to make a bid for France\u2019s World Cup squad. <\/p>\n

Maxence Lacroix of Crystal Palace has been included as a back-up central defender instead.<\/p>\n

Speaking shortly after signing for the club, he said: \u201cThat\u2019s part of my goals as well. That\u2019s why I\u2019m here, to come back to the national team.\u201d <\/p>\n

He formed part of the 2022 squad who reached the World Cup final, making his senior debut for his country during their group stage defeat to Tunisia. <\/p>\n

In total, the 28-year-old has five caps for his country but he has been left out of the squad who will travel to the United States,\u00a0Canada\u00a0and Mexico for this summer\u2019s tournament. <\/p>\n

Alphonse Areola, who won the World Cup with France in 2018 and also formed part of the 2022 squad, has been left out too after losing his place at West Ham earlier this year. <\/p>\n

It is a shame for Disasi, who has been excellent from pretty much the first minute he arrived here in east London. <\/p>\n

Hopefully, he can still end this season on a high note by helping keep West Ham up. <\/p>\n
