Arsenal have suffered a huge double injury scare in their battle for the Premier League title with Kai Havertz and Eberechi Eze both forced off against Newcastle United.<\/p>\n

Eze eased nerves around the Emirates with a goal after just nine minutes on Saturday evening, finding the top corner with an exquisite strike from just outside the box.<\/p>\n

Havertz, preferred to Viktor Gyokeres up front against Manchester City last week, kept his place in the side and was involved in the build-up for the opener.<\/p>\n

But the Germany international\u2019s evening came to an early end when he was forced off after 34 minutes.<\/p>\n

The former Chelsea star appeared to be clutching his groin area as he left the pitch, heading straight down the tunnel for treatment.<\/p>\n

Gyokeres was brought onto replace him. <\/p>\n

As Arsenal looked to build on their lead in the second-half, Eze was also seen struggling. <\/p>\n

Mikel Arteta made the decision to make the change with Gabriel Martinelli onto replace him.<\/p>\n

Eze took his place on the bench rather than heading straight down the tunnel like Havertz.<\/p>\n

Arteta is expected to provide an update on the pair later this evening.<\/p>\n

Arsenal had made just one change to the side that was beaten by City last week with Ben White returning at right-back.<\/p>\n

Jurrien Timber remains sidelined with a groin problem but Bukayo Saka was back among the subs for the Gunners after his recent Achilles injury. <\/p>\n

Victory for Arsenal tonight will see them move three points clear at the summit of the Premier League once again.<\/p>\n

They could in fact be six points clear by the time City are back in Premier League action.<\/p>\n

Pep Guardiola\u2019s side are in FA Cup action this evening and play a day after Arsenal next weekend. <\/p>\n
