West Ham have had their survival hopes boosted by a crucial win over Everton while victory for relegation rivals Spurs at Wolves came at a huge cost.<\/strong><\/p>\n

There was no shortage of drama as West Ham beat Everton 2-1 at the London Stadium while Tottenham Hotspur picked up their first league victory of 2026 at Wolves.<\/p>\n

While Spurs were still 0-0 at Molineux, Tomas Soucek put West Ham in front with a superb header from a corner.<\/p>\n

That had the Hammers four points clear of bitter rivals Tottenham, leading to taunts from Wolves fans who chanted \u2018Nuno\u2019 at the travelling north London contingent having been manager of both clubs in the past.<\/p>\n

Advantage West Ham as two more key Spurs stars injured<\/h2>\n

There were ripples around the London Stadium when news came through of Tottenham\u2019s 82nd minute goal from former West Ham target Joao Palhinha.<\/p>\n

The Stratford arena then fell into a deathly silence as Everton equalised just minutes later, putting West Ham back in the Premier League relegation zone on goal difference.<\/p>\n

And the Toffees were threatening to make things even worse by pushing for a winner. However, it would be the Hammers who got it as Wilson scored in the 92nd minute to deafening celebrations from the home crowd.<\/p>\n

Ultimately, West Ham\u2019s win was all the more crucial given Tottenham picked up all three points.<\/p>\n

Not least because it keeps survival in West Ham\u2019s own hands with four games to go.<\/p>\n

Tottenham were somewhat fortunate to secure the win over already relegated Wolves.<\/p>\n

But the real story was the big name stars who could now miss key games for Tottenham after Roberto De Zerbi was rocked by a double injury blow.<\/p>\n

Striker Dominic Solanke and key playmaker Xavi Simons both went off with serious-looking injuries.<\/p>\n

West Ham, Solanke and Simons add to De Zerbi\u2019s Spurs woes<\/h2>\n

Solanke went off with a hamstring strain while Simons suffered a knee injury.<\/p>\n

The Dutchman went down after a challenge with Hugo Bueno and was in visible pain, remaining on the turf while receiving treatment.<\/p>\n

He tried to play on but then collapsed in agony and medical staff called for a stretcher to take him off.<\/p>\n

Numerous football sites are reporting it is unlikely Simons, who left the field in tears, will feature again this season.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile Solanke, who has a history of hamstring injuries, is also reportedly now doubtful for the remaining matches.<\/p>\n

Tottenham have suffered with injuries all season and lost captain Cuti Romero for the rest of the season recently while former Hammer Mohammed Kudus suffered a setback which ended his campaign too.<\/p>\n

Destiny Udogie has also picked up an injury to add to De Zerbi\u2019s woes.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, West Ham appeared to escape unscathed from their win over Everton.<\/p>\n

The Hammers have a trip to Brentford next Saturday while Tottenham have to go to Champions League chasing Aston Villa without both Simons and Solanke.<\/p>\n

It is most definitely advantage West Ham in the relegation dogfight as the issues mount in north London.<\/p>\n
