Former West Ham defenders Aaron Cresswell and Craig Dawson are still supporting the team this season.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Cresswell left on a free transfer to Stoke last summer, having made over 350 appearances for the Hammers in 11 years.<\/p>\n

\n

Dawson rejoined Wolves in 2023 after a much shorter spell at the London Stadium, playing 87 times for West Ham in all competitions.<\/p>\n

Both players appear to have fond memories of their time with The Irons, as they returned to the club last weekend.<\/p>\n

West Ham duo Aaron Cresswell and Craig Dawson\u2019s classy gesture at Arsenal game<\/h2>\n

Both Aaron Cresswell and Craig Dawson attended West Ham\u2019s London derby against Arsenal last weekend.<\/p>\n

\u201cFormer players Craig Dawson, who left in 2023, and Aaron Cresswell, who left last summer to join Stoke City, attended the loss to Arsenal to cheer on their ex-teammates,\u201d reported The Athletic.<\/p>\n

The Hammers lost 1-0 after VAR controversially disallowed Callum Wilson\u2019s stoppage-time equaliser due to Pablo Felipe\u2019s foul on David Raya.<\/p>\n

It felt like a huge moment in the relegation battle, with the West Ham players and supporters feeling devastated after the final whistle.<\/p>\n

This made Cresswell and Dawson\u2019s classy gesture after the game even more significant, as they reportedly \u201cwent into the home changing room.\u201d<\/p>\n

Of course, they would have preferred to celebrate a victory with their former teammates.<\/p>\n

However, Cresswell and Dawson\u2019s show of support might have given the Hammers players a much-needed lift.<\/p>\n

It remains to be seen whether the Hammers respond well in a must-win game at St. James\u2019 Park on Sunday evening.<\/p>\n

Another defeat would push Nuno Espirito Santo\u2019s side one step closer to the Championship, where Cresswell and Dawson will also be.<\/p>\n

Perhaps a small positive of being relegated would be the opportunity for Cresswell, in particular, to return to the club.<\/p>\n
