Xabi Alonso is aligned with Chelsea on squad development and what\u2019s required in the transfer market according to The Athletic.<\/p>\n

Following Saturday\u2019s FA Cup final defeat against Manchester City at Wembley it was reported the Blues had reached an agreement with Alonso.<\/p>\n

The Spaniard is thought to have agreed a four year contract until 2030, with Chelsea expected to officially announce Alonso on Sunday morning. <\/p>\n

Xabi Alonso aligned with Chelsea on squad development<\/h2>\n

Alonso was Chelsea\u2019s preferred choice, and the Blues have handed him the title of manager rather than head coach, as was the case with Enzo Maresca and Liam Rosenior.<\/p>\n

Chelsea\u2019s players are said to be excited about the arrival of Alonso, and it\u2019s a real coup for the Blues to get the 44-year-old through the door.<\/p>\n

Alonso was arguably the best possible appointment Chelsea could make, and it\u2019s now vital he\u2019s backed in the transfer window this summer.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s believed Alonso will have a greater say in transfers, and The Athletic have reported he\u2019s aligned with Chelsea on squad development and what\u2019s required in the market.<\/p>\n

The report adds like the club, Alonso believes there\u2019s quality to work with, whilst there are areas which need improving and strengthening.<\/p>\n
