A Tottenham star has reacted on social media after Newcastle United handed the Lilywhites a major boost in their quest for survival.

Roberto De Zerbi’s men would have been nervous after failing to take their opportunity to beat Leeds and open up a four-point gap on West Ham.

However, they would have been delighted to see the Hammers handed a body blow at St James’ Park on Sunday as Newcastle ran out 3-1 winners.

That puts Tottenham in the driver’s seat ahead of their trip to Stamford Bridge, and one senior Spurs man is now hopeful that the job is all but done.

Unsurprisingly, it appears that the Spurs players were closely watching the action unfold in the North East ahead of their own trip to West London.

After the Hammers’ defeat, Yves Bissouma took to Instagram stories to post a cryptic message, hinting that he is now hopeful that the Lilywhites can get the job done and seal their survival.

Bissouma posted white heart, fingers crossed, and praying hands, knowing that he and his teammates go to Chelsea needing just a point to all but guarantee their safety.

Why Spurs will want to finish the job at Chelsea

One more point would almost certainly be enough for Tottenham to seal their place in the top-flight, with the Lilywhites having a 13-goal advantage over West Ham on goal difference.

However, Spurs fans will not want to go into their final game of the season against Everton with their Premier League status still on the line, as there is always the worry that the nerves and the pressure of the occasion can get to the players.

With De Zerbi’s men going to West London having won their last two away matches, they will believe they can get the job done tomorrow evening if they replicate their recent performances.
