Arsenal are hoping to beat the competition to the signature of Leicester City winger Jeremy Monga, according to reports.

The likes of Manchester City, Manchester United, Chelsea and Borussia Dortmund have also been credited with an interest in the 16-year-old.

However, HandofArsenal claim that the Gunners have tabled a “compelling offer” for Monga.

Any move would be dependent on compensation being paid to Leicester, as well as finding an agreement with the player.

It is believed that conversations have been held regarding Monga’s pathway to the first team, and those discussions are likely to prove pivotal to the move going ahead.

Why is Monga in such high demand?

The teenager has been described as a “generational talent” by Transfer marketand there is no doubt that he has a very promising future ahead of him.

Monga will only turn 17 in July, but he has already made 37 first-team appearances for Leicester over the last two seasons.

The forward made his senior debut against Newcastle in April last year, and he scored his first goal against Preston North End back in August.

Arsenal have recently added two players to their academy

Monga is very much one for the future, and sporting director Andrea Berta seems to be focused just as much on strengthening the youth team as well as the first-team squad.

At the end of last year, the Gunners announced that they would be signing two twin brothers from Independiente Del Valle.

They have paid around £9m for Edwin and Holger Quintero. The pair have signed five-year contracts with the London club, and they will officially make the switch to the Emirates when they turn 18 in August next year.
