West Ham supporters will not enjoy hearing Arsenal legend Patrick Vieira’s latest comments on the relegation battle.

The Hammers are just one game away from relegation to the Championship after losing to Newcastle at the weekend.

Tottenham only need to draw one of their last two games (Chelsea away and Everton at home) to stay in the Premier League.

Not only does Vieira expect West Ham to be relegated, but he expects it to happen at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday night.

We are all but relegated — how would you feel about keeping Nuno in the Championship? 🧑‍💼

Or was that performance the last straw? 😡

Patrick Vieira says West Ham’s relegation would be ‘sad’ for Premier League

Patrick Vieira has predicted West Ham will be relegated following Tottenham’s game against Chelsea on Tuesday.

Even though Spurs have a shocking record at Stamford Bridge, the Arsenal legend thinks they will get at least a draw.

“No. I think Spurs can get something at Stamford Bridge,” Vieira said. “I think West Ham have lost too many games. I see West Ham going down.”

West Ham fans will not be surprised by Vieira’s verdict, but they might not have expected him to feel sorry for them.

The former Gunners captain admitted that he would be “disappointed” to see a “huge club” like West Ham in the Championship.

“I feel disappointed because it’s a big club, a huge club in England,” he added. “Seeing them in that position is quite sad, but it’s too late for them to hope to survive.”

A cynical Hammers supporter may suggest that Vieira is only “sad” because Arsenal’s biggest rivals, Tottenham, are staying up.

How do YOU feel about Jarrod Bowen as a West Ham United captain….

Clearly a legend but a few dissenting voices 👀

Either way, it was nice for a Premier League icon to recognise West Ham as one of the pillars of the English top flight.

Hopefully, Vieira will be completely wrong about Spurs, and Chelsea will keep the relegation battle alive for a few more days.

Stranger things have happened than West Ham beating Leeds and Tottenham losing to Everton on the same day.
