Women’s international call-ups for June | International | News
15 members of our women’s team have been called up to represent their nations across the upcoming international break.
For England, we have four players among the Lionesses to take on Spain and Ukraine in the FIFA Women’s World Cup qualifiers, with Chloe Kelly, Alessia Russo, and Lotte Wubben-Moy all in contention to feature for Sarina Wiegman’s side.
Mariona Caldentey could come up against her Arsenal teammates in that game against England, before Spain travel to Iceland for their following World Cup qualifier.
Sweden are second in Group A of World Cup qualifying so Stina Blackstenius and Smilla Holmberg will both be looking for two vital wins against Denmark and Italy.
Caitlin Foord and Steph Catley are set to be involved in international friendly action with Australia. The Matildas are currently preparing for a double header with Mexico.
Similarly, USA will play a couple of friendlies with Brazil, and Emma Hayes has called upon the services of Emily Fox for the games. Likewise, Olivia Smith could be in friendly action for Canada away to Costa Rica.
At youth level, Cecily Wellesley-Smith, Laila Harbert, Jessie Gale, and Vivienne Lia have all got the nod for England under-20s, who travel to Spain for a training camp ahead of September’s U20 Women’s World Cup.
For Germany under-23s, Anne Borbe is in the squad as they get ready for two games against Denmark.
