Jared Leto denies criminal sexual conduct claims in BBC documentary

Jared Leto is denying allegations of criminal sexual conduct after four women accused the Oscar-winning actor and musician of offenses they claim occurred when they were teenagers.

“I have never sexually assaulted anyone in my entire life,” Leto said in a statement provided to Fox News Digital. “These claims are absolutely and categorically false.”

The allegations are detailed in the new BBC documentary, “Jared Leto: Hollywood’s Dark Secret,” which premiered Wednesday. The film features interviews with 10 participants, nine of whom shared their stories publicly for the first time.

According to the documentary, four women allege Leto engaged in criminal sexual conduct between 2002 and 2016, when the actor and Thirty Seconds to Mars frontman — now 54 — was in his 30s and 40s.

In a BBC story published Wednesday, one woman alleged she had sex with Leto at his California home when she was 17 years old. According to the outlet, the woman said Leto, who was 34 at the time, dismissed concerns after they discussed California’s age of consent being 18.

“It wasn’t a huge concern for him,” she alleged. “He told me, ‘I would like you to call me daddy.’ And it was either pretend to be a little girl or ‘my little girl.'”

The woman said that because she was “so naive and vulnerable” at the time, she didn’t understand that this behavior wasn’t “normal” in an adult relationship.

“It was only as time went on that I realized more and more how scary that really was,” she said.

A second woman alleged Leto sexually assaulted her in what she described as a “dingy gross motel” in Las Vegas in 2002, saying he invited her there after meeting her at the store where she worked.

According to the documentary, the woman said Leto called her into the bathroom while he was showering.

“I don’t think there was many words exchanged, and he opened the shower curtain and started kissing me,” she alleged.

She claimed Leto then grabbed her hand and forced her to masturbate him.

“Most of my life I had viewed this event as, I was a stupid girl … and so this bad thing happened,” she said.

A third woman alleged Leto threatened her with sexual assault after inviting her to a hotel room in London after a Thirty Seconds to Mars concert in 2013.

The former model said she was 19 at the time but told Leto she was 17 because she “felt the need” to pretend to be younger to protect herself. After telling Leto she was 17, the woman claimed he said, “Age is just a number, and, anyway, we’re in Europe.”

The woman claimed one of Leto’s assistants encouraged her to join in on another party at a nearby hotel room. However, when she arrived, she realized there was no party.

“I get into the hotel room, it’s really dark and then I see that it’s just him,” she said. “Weren’t there supposed to be other people?”

The woman claimed she asked Leto for a phone charger or some cash to get home, but he dismissed her requests.

After asking if she could sleep on a chaise lounge because she had no way home, the woman claimed Leto repeatedly told her she would wake up “with a d— in her ass.”

After realizing she “was not safe,” the woman left the room.

A fourth woman said Leto began grooming her when she was 16, made repeated sexually explicit phone calls to her and on at least one occasion suggested the two have sex.

According to the BBC, the woman was later presented with a nondisclosure agreement intended to prevent her from discussing her alleged relationship with Leto. She declined to sign the document, which BBC said it had reviewed.

Additional women also accused the actor of making what they described as “strange” and sexually explicit phone calls while they were underage or teenagers.

The documentary also featured interviews with two former employees connected to Thirty Seconds to Mars, who claim staff members were uncomfortable with Leto’s interactions with teenage girls.

One former employee alleged Leto would invite teenage girls backstage to his dressing room or to a house where the band was recording.

“I think everyone thought the age gap was way too big,” the former employee said.

The allegations are the latest in a series of claims against the Academy Award winner.

In June 2025, Air Mail published interviews with nine women who alleged Leto engaged in inappropriate sexual behavior over the years, including accusations involving minors. Those allegations included claims that Leto asked sexually explicit questions to a 16-year-old, exposed himself to a 17-year-old and placed an 18-year-old’s hand “on him.”

The Air Mail report followed allegations by Los Angeles DJ Allie Teilz, who publicly claimed she was assaulted by Leto when she was 17.

At the time, representatives for Leto “expressly” denied the Air Mail allegations, calling Teilz’s claims “demonstrably false.”

According to the BBC, Leto did not respond to repeated requests for comment regarding the documentary’s allegations.
