Mohamed Salah shares what he really thinks of Jose Mourinho after Chelsea spell
Mohamed Salah was a casualty of Jose Mourinho’s desire to win in his second spell at Chelsea, although the winger admitted he still has a great relationship with his former manager.
Salah joined Chelsea in 2014, but played just 13 Premier League games before being sold to Roma after a couple of successful loan spells in Italy.
He featured for the club at the same time that Kevin de Bruyne was a Chelsea player too, however Blues fans never saw the best of him until he returned to Stamford Bridge as a Manchester City star.

Mohamed Salah has great relationship with Jose Mourinho despite failed Chelsea stint
Salah has also tormented his former club since leaving, and many have been left questioning why things didn’t work out with Jose Mourinho in charge in West London.
Despite this underwhelming time in his career, the Egyptian has insisted he has a great relationship with his former manager, telling StanSport that Mourinho actually wanted him to stay in England when he first went on loan to Fiorentina.
He said: “I remember I had a conversation with Jose and he’s a lovely guy. I love him. One of the best coaches I had in my life and our relationship is good now. So I don’t want people to think that I’m hating him or something.
“No, I love him. And he told me like I want you to stay or just go somewhere just on loan then come back but in the UK because I want you. I said no I want to I see myself away now.
“There’s too much pressure on me. I want to go to Italy. I want to play there and I don’t want to go on loan and come back to a club.”
Salah was on the end of public criticism from his manager in 2014 after an underwhelming display in the League Cup against Shrewsbury Town.

Salah was linked with Stamford Bridge return
With Salah’s contract situation at Anfield being a topic of discussion over the past few seasons, Chelsea have reportedly been monitoring his situation.
There was a claim that Salah felt he had unfinished business at Stamford Bridge after his original spell with the club didn’t work out.
Ultimately, the Egyptian had too much respect for the club who had helped him become a Premier League legend to genuinely consider a switch back to West London.
He goes down though as one of the great missed opportunities in Chelsea’s recent history, and alongside De Bruyne the biggest ‘what if he’d stayed’ scenario.
