Bayern Munich sources are ‘consistently’ saying the same thing about signing Josh Acheampong from Chelsea
Chelsea are continuing to refuse to hand enough opportunities to Josh Acheampong, and this has not gone unnoticed by European heavyweights Bayern Munich.
Despite defensive woes in the absence of Levi Colwill, Acheampong was not handed many opportunities to start big games under Liam Rosenior.
Colwill was forced straight back into the side after Trevoh Chalobah and Tosin Adarabioyo struggled greatly against Nottingham Forest, despite worries regarding his long-term ACL injury.
QUARTER-FINAL 3: Which Chelsea player has had the best season?
Bayern Munich consistently talking about signing Josh Acheampong from Chelsea
A number of elite clubs have been linked with Acheampong as they monitor his situation, with Bayern frequently linked with a move.
Insider Christian Falk has stated that the Chelsea academy graduate is firmly on their list to be brought in to replace Hiroki Ito.

He said to Bayern Insider: “You can see I’m looking at my phone because I’ve just been told something else.
“Ito is considered a possible sale candidate, because they already have other defenders in mind for that position. One of them is Josh Acheampong from Chelsea. We’ve talked about him before, and the name keeps coming up consistently.
“In fact, it wasn’t denied to me just now either—that’s why I checked again.”
It was reported that Chelsea players were not happy with how Rosenior was using Acheampong, and if he stays he will be one of the promising young talents that whoever the new manager is has to look at.
Are there any changes you would make to the Chelsea XI?
Pedro Neto and Alejandro Garnacho are both ‘unlikely’ to feature 😬
Chelsea want a new centre-back
Worries about Acheampong’s future will only be enhanced by rumours that Chelsea want to bring in a new centre-back this summer.
It has been reported that Chelsea want a physically-dominant signing at the back to be the perfect complement to Colwill at the back.
There are seemingly no assurances over the rest of the centre-backs at the club. They will be open to offers for Chalobah, Tosin, Wesley Fofana and Benoit Badiashile.
After the Blues lost out on Rio Ngumoha by offering him no opportunities with the first team squad, they are running dangerously close to doing the same with Acheampong.
