This still leaves a number of candidates on the table, with Chelsea reportedly targeting a figure who was Premier League experience under their belt.

Andoni Iraola has enjoyed a brilliant season at the helm of Bournemouth, and is set to depart at the end of the campaign when his contract comes to an end.

Elsewhere in England, Eddie Howe and Marco Silva are options who have presented themselves as potential targets for the club to suit their criteria.
